Bear with me today, friends, as we layout the timeline of the grief-stricken President-Elect Barack Obama’s mournful concerns for his loving maternal grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, who raised him from 1971 through 1979 (when he left Hawaii). He lived with his grandmother while his mother returned to live in Indonesia.
As you can see from the photo this kind-hearted lady, who he affectionately called “Toot”, cared deeply for the young man she raised. The photo is from his high school graduation in 1979. She passed away from a long battle with cancer two days before his election (October 26, 1922 – November 2, 2008) and she was laid to rest yesterday (2008-11-14). (read this entire post…)
