A concerned patriot wrote me the following. “...our Tea Party efforts are taking a weird turn. As you know the April 15th nationwide rallies were a BIG success! The issues were Runaway Federal Spending and lack of primarily, the Federal Government doing what is best for the people. …we are receiving direction to turn our focus to the Local Cities, Counties, and School Boards and not to focus on National issues. This is not what started the Tea Parties and in my opinion is not where we should be going as a “Grassroots” group.” The following is my reply. There is a saying that “all politics are local”. In other words, national change starts at the local level. However, I don’t believe national issues should be ignored. WE NEED TO FIGHT ON BOTH LEVELS! Also, I believe in following YOUR passion or calling. If national issues are your hot button, I believe that is where your efforts should go.

South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, crying at times, admitted this afternoon to having an extramarital affair with an Argentine woman “I’ve been unfaithful to my wife,” Sanford said at a state capitol news conference hours after he returned to the country from a visit to his mistress in Argentina. It began very innocently,” he explained, saying he had known the woman for eight years. But the relationship with somebody he only called a “dear, dear friend” developed into an adulterous relationship in the past year. He said he seen his mistress three times since they began the affair or, as he put it, “since the whole sparking thing.” Sanford said the two met via “a casual email back and forth.” In disclosing his affair, Sanford also announced he was resigning his post as Chairman of the Republican Governor’s Association.  The following letter was emailed to Glenn Beck two days ago by Janet Contreras. She’s an everyday citizen who passionately expresses her anger over the ongoing failures of our ‘non-representing’ representatives in DC to address the concerns of their constituencies. If you haven’t heard about the Citizens Grand Juries regarding Barack Obama’s qualification to be POTUS, the coverage in this video clip may surprise you. On March 28th, the State of Georgia convened a constitutionally empowered Grand Jury; they returned indictments against Obama for voter fraud.  What one industry continues to enjoy enormous sales during our challenging economic times? Yes; that’s right — gun and ammo sales have been soaring for several months. In fact, the firearms industry and the federal government appear to be the fastest two growing segments of our economy. A simple Google News search for “gun sales”, “gun sales up”, or “gun sales soaring” yields hundreds of recent stories from across our nation. Many locations are enjoying 3 to 5 times the sales over the same first few months last year. It seems that a lot of Americans fear our government will soon attempt to restrict the freedom we enjoy to bear arms granted to us by the Second Amendment. Only time will reveal whether or not these concerns are fully justified. Wouldn’t it be really ironic, though, if laws created with the purpose of cutting back on crime and the number of murders actually had the opposite effect?
