More than 10,000 people turned out Monday night for a North Houston Tea Party Patriots gathering to protest proposed health care reform and big government spending. Crowds packed the field at the Sam Houston Race Park and cheered loudly as speakers called for the people to take control of the American government. Wearing slogans that said “Don’t Tread on Me” and T-shirts stating, “I am a Tea Party Patriot — I will defend our Constitution,” those attending the event enthusiastically showed support for more constraints on the government and more personal freedom.

A large, enthusiastic crowd of people carrying signs and waving flags in protest of a government they say is not representing them gathered in downtown San Diego on Sunday morning to kick off a cross-country tour to demand change. Dubbed Tea Party Express II, the rally at Tuna Harbor Park marked the first of 38 stops that will span 7,000 miles in 20 days and wind up in Orlando, FL. Organizers say the goal is to focus on the mid-term elections. Tea Partiers are urging people to use their vote to defeat any politician who supports the current administration, more taxation, and more spending.

It was a hot August evening in Walnut Creek, California. I joined the Republican Women’s group for a tea party protest on the high traffic streets, as people were going home from work for the weekend. There were people with flags and generic signs that were against health care reform and socialism. Cars were honking in support of our signs. However, many puzzled faces peered out from their car windows, reading the signs with fear etched in their faces. Fear that the votes which were cast last fall were a clear mistake. These were expressions of buyer’s remorse. No disapproval, only expressions of deep concern on their faces.

Yesterday a woman posted on FaceBook an idea to show opposition to government takeover by flying the American flag upside down as a symbol of distress. While I liked her enthusiasm, it concerns me that this may be misinterpreted as disrespectful to our flag. My mom had an alternative idea that I thought bares mentioning. Tie a red, white, and blue ribbon around a tree or mailbox … or wherever you can on your property to oppose our present government. We are going to attempt to contact Glenn Beck and other media sources about this effort. We need your help to spread the word! Let’s Take Back America!!!

It was an enjoyable honor to attend the 912 March on DC. The 8-hour bus trip with fellow patriots concerned about big government growth added to the pleasure of participating in the largest political rally in our great nation’s history. In DC, attendees were not only friendly and respectful; but, we also left our nation’s capital free of litter. (video and photo gallery below) Moreover, most media outlets have downplayed the huge attendance to the 912 March on DC. Was it 10,000? Was it 75,000? 1.2 million? 1.7 million? 2 million? For President Obama and his “mainstream media”, it must be like arguing over exactly how many drops of water are in the tidal wave that is bearing down on you!  Indeed, each of us who proudly joined the 2-million-man-march have 50 to 100 friends and family with similar convictions who were unable to attend. We fully recognize that when government makes our choices for us or limits them, tyranny prevails. When we can make our own choices, liberty prevails. We stand not for the vagaries of partisan politics; but, rather we unite together across party lines for protection of our unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

  The Gadsden flag is a historical American flag with a yellow field depicting a rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike. Positioned below the snake is the legend “Don’t Tread on Me”. The flag was designed by and is named after American general and statesman Christopher Gadsden. It was also used by The United States Marine Corps as an early motto flag.

The Tucson area Tea Party Coalition held a townhall healthcare meeting at Rincon High School in Tucson on Friday (August 28th). Over 1,000 people showed up at the event … including one violent counter-protester. The ObamaCare supporter loudly interrupted the meeting immediately after a TPD officer thanked the group for always being civil and law-abiding at their events. The event protester shouted over our panelists incessantly and, when approached, hit one of the attendees in the face with his elbow. The man who was assaulted kept his cool and TPD promptly removed the protester from the auditorium. Two local TV stations covered the town hall event, KOLD13 and KGUN9. In the final episode of a record-breaking ratings week, Glenn Beck presented an inspiring music video produced by his staff on Friday. He simply entitled it “A 912 Music Video.” From King George to the 911 Terrorists to the current attempt at a socialist takeover of our country by the non-representing Congress and marxist Administration, WE have been underestimated. In each case, the purveyors of tyranny failed to recognize the will of the American people. After watching this video, you may be more inclined to name it “We Have Been Underestimated Before.”

A college student from Tallahassee, FL, Ashleigh Kenny, was on Fox News yesterday to discuss the popularity and controversy of her “R.I.P. U.S. Constitution” t-shirt slogan. It’s inspiring to hear this young lady’s concern about and passion for our constitutional republic. The new web site she mentions in the video, MatterNow.org, has had so much traffic that the store is temporarily down for maintenance.

The organizers who brought the Tax Day Tea Party to cities around the nation this spring encouraged thousands of protesters Saturday afternoon to anti-health care reform rallies staged in front of at least 100 Congressional district offices. Attendance was spotty, but at some sites, hundreds of protesters marched for hours waving American flags, holding signs that said “Don’t Stick Me With Your Health Care” and sending live Twitter feeds from their locations. The event, called the National Recess Rally, was meant to counter efforts at town hall meetings held by members of Congress and by President Obama where lawmakers have tried to generate support for the reform during the summer recess.

Right now, there are roughly 800,000 physicians in the United States of America. Approximately 25,000 physicians complete their medical training every year. To keep abreast of current medical demands, the U.S. each year requires about 30,000 new physicians. Now take 40 million uninsured and dump them into this system, and do you know what you get? Rationing. There’s simply no way around it, all democratic-socialist, welfare-statist, wishful-thinking propaganda to the contrary notwithstanding.
