Dede Scozzafava, the Republican candidate, announced this afternoon that she is suspending her campaign for New York’s 23rd Congressional District. The state Assemblywoman has not thrown her support to either Doug Hoffman, the Conservative Party candidate, or to Bill Owens, the Democratic candidate. The decision to suspend her campaign is most likely a boost for Hoffman who has been steadily gaining in the polls. (videos below)

A poll released today by the Club for Growth shows Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman surging into the lead in the special election in New York’s 23rd congressional district. He was recently endorsed by Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Fred Thompson, Dick Armey, Tim Pawlenty, Steve Forbes, and area TEA Party Organizers. (video below) The poll of 300 likely voters, conducted October 24-25, 2009, shows Conservative Doug Hoffman at 31.3%, moderate Democrat Bill Owens at 27.0%, liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava at 19.7%, and 22% undecided. The poll’s margin of error is +/- 5.66%.

Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN), Republican Conference Chairman, suggested on the Senate floor this morning that the Obama White House is plotting a political strategy similar to that of ex-President Richard Nixon and may be on the verge of preparing its own “enemies list.” This afternoon, Fox News’ Neil Cavuto interviewed him regarding the comments. (videos below) Alexander, who served in the Nixon White House, offered what he said was a “friendly suggestion” to the White House not to repeat the errors he saw committed by the staff of the disgraced former president. “This behavior is typical of street brawls and political campaign consultants,” Alexander said. “If the president and his top aides treat people with different views as enemies instead of listening to what they have to say, they’re likely to end up with a narrow view and a feeling that the whole world is out to get them. And as those of us who served in the Nixon White House know, that can get you into a lot of trouble.”

On MSNBC this morning, Joe Scarborough offered his analysis of the White House war on Fox News. (video below) He said that the White House is playing to their two bases, the far-left and the Washington Press Corps. Scarborough added that the White House hopes to keep other media outlets from following Fox News stories in the future - stories like ACORN, Van Jones, and now Anita Dunn. Fox News has led the way on all these stories, and the White House has seen other media eventually report on ACORN and Van Jones. They want that to stop.

Obama’s Manufacturing Czar, Ron Bloom, stated on February 27th, 2008, that “the free market is nonsense”. He added the he “kinda” agrees with Chinese Communist Dictator Chairman Mao Tse-Tung that “political power comes largely from the barrel of a gun.” (video below) Bloom, along with Anita Dunn, is the second Obama Administration official to laud the words of the man who murdered 50 to 70 million political dissidents in his country.

On Fox News’ “Greta van Susteren” show tonight, she interviewed Tucker Carlson regarding the ongoing White House war on Fox News. (video below) Carlson said he finds it “outrageous” that the White House is calling Fox News “illegitimate” when he personally saw another network (MSNBC) weep with joy on the air when Obama was elected. “I was there,” Carlson said.
