On MSNBC’s “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” (September 1st), Olbermann interviewed Dan Savage, a syndicated sex columnist, author, and gay-rights advocate about the ethics of the opposition to Obama’a policies. Savage stated and Olbermann agreed that some conservatives and leaders like Glenn Beck and Representative Michele Bachmann “are trying to get the President killed”. (video below)

Organizing for America (OFA), a project of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), used to be Obama for America. The political group has been encouraging participation in a work-at-home ObamaCare organizing event by besmirching the opposition as “Right-Wing Domestic Terrorists”. When their detestable ploy was discovered yesterday (September 1st), they removed the online open letter. But … Google’s cache saved the original page which can be found with this search. This cached page will likely be “scrubbed” soon too. So … we’ve captured it both as a PDF document and as a graphic (below) … for your careful perusal. In this despicable OFA attack, they also ask members to make two phone calls for ObamaCare on September 11th … yes … 911 … the 8th anniversary of the terrorist attacks! And … note that they claim a whopping 75% of Americans support ObamaCare!

On Tuesday’s Hardball (September 1st), Chris Matthews proclaimed that criticizing Michelle Obama having 26 aides is racist. This is another shining example of the far-left not debating an issue on its merits. Notice that he did NOT dispute the enormous historical precedent of her staff of 26 or their combined salary totaling 1.6 Million taxpayer dollars. When they can not persuade in the arena of ideas, they attack the messenger … typically by denigrating the messenger as racist. Related Story:

When the man convicted of murdering 270 people by blowing up Pan Am flight 103 two decades ago over Lockerbie, Scotland, was released, many in this country were rightfully outraged. On December 21st, 1988, 243 passengers, 16 crew members, and 11 people on the ground were murdered. Of these, 180 were Americans; 60 of them children. The bomber, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, returned to Libya on August 20th with much fanfare enjoying a “compassionate release” due to his imminent demise from cancer. He had served 8 years of a 27-year sentence. Moreover, he was given an unfathomable level of compassion that beyond outrage, has sparked even more controversy. (video below)

The Tucson area Tea Party Coalition held a townhall healthcare meeting at Rincon High School in Tucson on Friday (August 28th). Over 1,000 people showed up at the event … including one violent counter-protester. The ObamaCare supporter loudly interrupted the meeting immediately after a TPD officer thanked the group for always being civil and law-abiding at their events. The event protester shouted over our panelists incessantly and, when approached, hit one of the attendees in the face with his elbow. The man who was assaulted kept his cool and TPD promptly removed the protester from the auditorium. Two local TV stations covered the town hall event, KOLD13 and KGUN9. This video was taken on Tuesday (August 25th) at Representative Jim Moran’s (D-VA) town hall meeting on ObamaCare held at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA. Many people were left outside when the school filled to capacity. School security officer Wesley Cheeks, Jr. did not like a protester’s anti-ObamaCare poster which used one of the viral “Joker” graphics. Officer Cheeks, a security officer employed by the Fairfax County Public Schools, told some town hall protesters to put away their signs or he’ll “charge them with trespassing or whatever he wants.” Then, when a protester said to Officer Cheeks, “This used to be America!” his response was: “It ain’t no more, OK?” This video is from the DissentFromDayOne YouTube channel.

On Wednesday (August 26th) before he addressed a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) openly wished for the Las Vegas Review-Journal to “go out of business” … a newspaper which has held opposing political viewpoints with the Senator. The comment came when Bob Brown, the Journal’s Director of Advertising met with Reid during the simple process of handshaking. Reid exclaimed to Brown: “I hope you go out of business.” To their credit, the Journal did not take this bullying tactic lying down. Today, publisher Sherman Frederick posted an Op-Ed column in which he called Reid’s tactics childish, ugly, boorish, creepy, and asinine. References:

Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY) of Wyoming delivered the weekly Republican address Saturday on the loss of Senator Kennedy and the importance of getting health care reform done right. Senator Enzi discussed how the Democrats are rushing a health reform bill through congress that will ultimately “raid Medicare”, raise costs and increase the deficit.  Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, a popular American comedy duo during the 1940s and 50s, performed a number crowd pleasing skits. Even today, their “Who’s On First” skit is still well known. Another of their famous skits, “Union Loafers”, would probably be considered “politically incorrect” by today’s far-left activists. Nonetheless, the humor of this comedic routine seems to be an appropriate reminder since looming on the horizon is the “card check” scheme to end private unionization ballots. In this one, Abbott gets a loafing job at a bakery and Costello can’t understand that he gets paid for it.

BOND Action, Inc. (Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny), a national cultural action organization, has come out in support of FOX News Channel broadcaster Glenn Beck. Beck has been under attack from the radical left-wing group ColorOfChange.org after he said last month that he believes President Obama is “a racist.” “Glenn Beck is right, Obama is a racist!” added Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, BOND founder and president. “Where were the boycotts and outraged activists when President George W. Bush was being falsely maligned as a ‘racist’? This is a blatant double standard. This boycott is an attempt to silence Beck from continuing his exposé of Barack Obama’s socialist agenda and his radical ‘green jobs czar’ Van Jones.”

The North Carolina Supreme Court ruled Friday (August 28th) that a 2004 law that bars convicted felons from having a gun, even within their own home or business, is unconstitutional. The state’s high court ruled in the case of Barney Britt of Wake County that the General Assembly went too far five years ago when it toughened restrictions on felons owning guns as part of a broad anti-domestic-violence bill.

 A Senate bill, S-773, would offer President Obama emergency control of the Internet and may give him authority to shut down online traffic by seizing private networks. Details of a revised version of the CyberSecurity Act of 2009 emerged late Thursday (August 27th), months after an initial version authored by Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV). The original version was highly criticized in Silicon Valley as a dangerous government intrusion. The new version of the CyberSecurity Act of 2009 changes the wording to allow the President to “declare a cyber-security emergency” relating to “non-governmental” computer networks. As with the original bill, however, the revised bill does not explain what a cyber-security emergency is.
