Safe Schools Czar Absolves Murder for Anti-gay Slurs5.054

How safe is this? Obama’s Safe Schools Czar, Kevin Jennings, wrote in September of 1998 that killing someone who called you a name was not aberrant behavior. The clear implication is that if someone calls you a “faggot” … “that being ‘a man’ is the most important thing in life, even if you have to kill someone to prove it.”

Apparently since society teaches men that to call someone gay is a crime deserving of the death penalty, parents have no influence in any of this … and the criminals bear no personal responsibility for their own actions. It is society’s fault.

His sage words regarding the manly response to name-calling is excerpted here from the April 2001 BGLAD Newsletter (Bisexuals, Gays, Lesbians, Transgendereds and Allies At DuPont). The document PDF link (and a backup) are below. Refer to pages 10 and 11 for his insightful “Be A Man” article.

We need to own up to the fact that our culture teaches boys that being “a man” is the most important thing in life, even if you have to kill someone to prove it. Killing someone who calls you a faggot is not aberrant behavior but merely the most extreme expression of a belief that is beaten (sometimes literally) into boys at an early age in this country: Be a man – don’t be a faggot.

As Suzanne Pharr so eloquently explained in her landmark work Homophobia: A Weapon of Sexism, antigay bigotry is inextricably intertwined with the maintenance of “proper” gender roles by which little girls are supposed to be “sugar and spice and everything nice” and boys are supposed to be, well, quite the opposite. When boys take up guns to kill those who torment them with words like “faggot,” we shouldn’t be surprised. They’re just doing what we have taught them to do.

Nobel Peace Prize Winner’s Safe Schools Czar Argues Murdering Name Callers Not Aberrant Behavior…

We’ve already seen that he won’t do crap about students being picked up in restrooms by adult men for sexual trysts, and he has expressed support for NAMBLA — now we find out he doesn’t have much of a problem……

He said no such thing. Quite the opposite, in fact. Besides the fact that “Czar” is a term made up by the media, Mr. Jennings was referring to the fact that society saw nothing wrong with a man beating up someone who called him “gay” and had, therefore, “insulted his masculinity.” He clearly stated that SOCIETY accepts this anti-gay activity as “normal” or “not aberrant.”
Get a clue. We don’t see people being beat or murdered because they are “straight.” We do, however, see beatings and murders of people simply because they are thought to be “gay.”
Your post turned any logic on its head. Did you intentionally try to mislead, or are you just that stupid? Perhaps you also believe that the sun revolves around the earth, rather than the other way around!

oh–my little kiddo calls your “analysis” of that article, or lack thereof, “upside down world.”
Clearly, sir, law school is far beyond your reach.

Perhaps if you had actually perused said article by this “special adviser”, you would not have revealed your lack of comprehension so well.

It was Abe Lincoln who said “It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.” Wise words for you to consider, Ande.
