The health-care debate was supposed to play out at rallies and inside gymnasiums when lawmakers headed home for the August recess. But after a series of contentious town-hall meetings, some Democratic lawmakers are thinking twice about holding large public gatherings. Instead, they are opting for smaller sessions, holding meetings by phone or inviting constituents for one-on-one office hours. Democrats have accused Republicans of manufacturing the opposition by organizing groups to attend the events and encouraging disruptive behavior. Republican organizers say the unrest reflects genuine anger about the proposed health-care changes.

Americans need to stay on alert. Not only are elected officials ignoring us, but Obama is replacing them with Czars. Most of the Czars appointed by Obama are unelected, unconfirmed by the Senate, and they answer only to Obama. At present he has 44, but has plans for more. He has given them power over cabinet level officials. If subpoenaed by congress, they can claim executive privilege. Is he sitting up the framework to dismiss Congress and have a government of a despot? A Marxist government? Totalitarian? Meet your Czars; we pay them well. They earn between $158,500 and $172,200 a year. They are designing the policies of this country — not Congress.

It’s official. The U.S. is no longer engaged in a “war on terrorism.” Neither is it fighting “jihadists” or in a “global war.” President Obama’s top homeland security and counterterrorism official took all three terms off the table of acceptable words inside the White House during a speech Thursday at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank. “The President does not describe this as a ‘war on terrorism,’” said John Brennan, head of the White House homeland security office, who outlined a “new way of seeing” the fight against terrorism.

At a town hall meeting yesterday in Tampa for Kathy Castor (D-FL), over 1,000 unexpectedly showed up. As Representative Kathy Castor was introduced, the reaction was overwhelmingly against her, with boos and chants of “You work for US” and “Hear OUR voice”. And in the lobby, the counter of Planned Parenthood representatives were shouting, “Healthcare Now”. Many of the ObamaCare opponents were locked out. (two videos below)

At a town hall meeting yesterday in a southern suburb of St. Louis for Russ Carnahan (D-MO), which became centered on health care reform, numerous people were locked out (first video below). Apparently, though, Service Employees International Union members (SEIU, purple shirts) were still allowed entry (allegedly because they had RSVP’d). Being locked out of the meeting, the group of nearly 1,000 broke out in song outside the meeting. (second video below) After Representative Russ Carnahan left, violence erupted outside the middle school where the town hall was held. (third video below) Allegedly, SEIU representatives were confronted by health care reform opponents and the SEIU folks (purple shirts), in turn, knocked to the ground and began kicking an opponent, Kenneth C. Gladney.

In Dallas, TX on Tuesday, AARP organizers cancelled a ‘listening session’ in Dallas after participants demanded answers on the proposed health care reform. Do you remember when no one locked their home door? A convertible could sit with the top down and no-one would bother it. Families went to church together. We had prayer in school. Movies were westerns, musicals, and comedies. Every father taught his son how to use a gun. Drugs were medicines prescribed by doctors. Children were safe playing in their yards. You trusted the news media. You trusted the government. Sound like a fantasy today? Communist leader Lenin in his strategy to attack the West said “destroy the family and society will collapse”. Now we have congressmen that want to pass laws to make spanking a child an illegal act punishable by law. The U.N. treaty says “any physical punishment or discipline could mean a prison sentence” and/or “prohibit you from taking your child to church — against their will”. It is illegal to spank a child in Finland. Many Scandinavians are serving time for spanking a child.

In a letter to President Obama, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) expressed serious concern about the White House’s new program requesting Americans to forward email chains and other communications opposing the President’s health care policies. Senator Cornyn is seeking assurances that the program is being carried out in a manner consistent with the First Amendment and America’s tradition of free speech and public discourse. Senator Cornyn’s letter also inquires about the collection of names, email addresses, IP addresses, and private speech of U.S. citizens that will be reported, which raises the specter of a data collection program.
