In 1965, Columbia University Socialists Richard Andrew Cloward and Francis Fox Piven published an article “The Weight of the Poor; A Strategy to End Poverty”. In it they urged activists to ’sabotage and destroy the welfare system’. They said that ‘the collapse of the welfare state would ignite a political and financial crisis and that ‘poor people would rise in revolt’. Cloward and Piven were inspired by the radical organizer Saul Alinsky (mentor to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama).
Activists nationwide adopted the ‘Cloward/Piven Strategy’ which described the strategy and tactics to use to ‘hasten the fall of Capitalism by overloading the government with impossible demands’. This is why I say Obama’s economic crisis is deliberate.
Rahm Emanuel said to ‘never let a crisis go to waste’ and he isn’t above creating one to rush congress into accepting the energy bill, national health care, etc. It gives the government the excuse to nationalize businesses and banks. They follow the Saul Alinsky ‘Rules for Radicals’. They want to replace Capitalism with Socialism.
Cloward and Piven enlisted George Wiley to implement their strategy; he founded National Welfare Reform Organizations. He hired people to storm welfare offices and demand ‘their rights’, tearing up the places, and terrorfing people at the same time. The vast expansion of welfare rolls (6 million) in New York City bankrupted the city in 1975. Rudy Giuliani cited the “Cloward/Pavin Strategy” as being responsible for the ‘effort to sabotage the economy’.
In 1970 George Wiley sent Wade Rathke, a member of the radical Students for Democratic Society [SDS] to Arkansas to found Arkansas Community Organization for Reform Now -ACORN. Rathke expanded his efforts and started fighting a wide range of ‘low income rights’ fights, including voting rights, housing, illegal immigration, etc. Later, he changed the name to Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
The strategy called for demonstrations to ‘create a climate of militancy’ and to ‘intimidate politicians. They had ’sit ins’ at government offices, boycotts, mass demonstrations, and used tear gas, picket lines, rock throwing, and destroyed offices.
In 1982 they founded a ‘Voting Rights Movement’. Project Vote is also a ACORN front group. They lobbied for the Motor Voter Bill and a young lawyer Barack Obama provided legal representation. The bill allows people to register to vote at motor vehical departtments, schools, libraries, and several public places.
Cloward and Piven were standing behind President Clinton when he signed it into law. Their tactics under the strategy are: register as many democrat voters as possible, help them to vote (multiple times), overwhelm the system with fraudulent registration, including names from tombstones and phone books. Their goal is to get a democratic administration elected that would redistribute the nation’s wealth and bring about a Socialist State!
ACORN is largely responsible for the housing crisis but they stayed ‘under the radar’ until the 2008 Presidential Campaign, when funded by George Soros they campaigned for Barack Obama. He had been hired by Madeline Talbott, head of the Chicago ACORN to train her personal staff in the 80’s.
While working with Bill Ayers (5 years) at the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, they had funneled money to ACORN. The Obama campaign paid ACORN $800,000 to register voters. Obama promised to meet with them within the first 100 days of his term to ‘have input into the agenda of the next president of the United States”.
ACORN has been involved in voter fraud across the country. Some were paid to forge forms, canvassers sold registration cards, fed the homeless, and loaded them on buses to go vote, paid people to vote (some registering up to 70 times). They are still in court in 14 states for fraudulent voting practices.
Wade Rathke and his brother Dale, who had embezzled a million dollars from ACORN and never went to prison, left the organization in 2008 but Wade rejoined and is now founding agencies in other countries. They gave the Obama campaign 33 million dollars.
Subsidiaries and satellites of ACORN include “Project Vote”, “Living Wage Center”, “Social Policy”, “Wal-mart Alliance for Reform Now”, “Service Employees International Union” (SEIU), “Citizens Services Inc.”, and “Financial Justice Center”. There are numerous agencies and all of their money goes to an old funeral home in New Orleans to be divided among them. They had an anniversary party the week before last in the ACORN meeting place in New Orleans and several from Congress attended.
ACORN receive 140 billion dollars of the ‘bailout’ money. They seem to hire people that have been in prison and force them to meet quotas, even if they register Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck a dozen times. If they get caught, ACORN throws them to the wolves. This is the group Obama wants to take the census.
In the late 1980’s Obama was a board member of the Woods Fund and was funding ACORN activity while training Chicago’s ACORN staff in “leadership training seminars”.
In the 1970’s, if ACORN wanted a bank to make high risk loans they might protest at the bankers homes (scaring their families) and flood bank lobbies with protesters.
Obama provided legal representation for ACORN. ACORN is not required to disclose it’s activities, it’s members, donors, or expenditures. Members do pay $120.00 yearly dues. The federal government (or rather tax payers) fund ACORN! They also get funding from Hertz (Theresa Hertz Kerry), Ben and Jerry’s, Annie E Casey, George Soros, Open Society, and others.
In 1977, under Jimmy Carter, the Community Investment Act forced banks to make loans to low income, high risk customers. IT WAS EXTORTION OF OUR BANKS. It sent shock waves through Wall Street and the financial world.
In the 1980’s ACORN started charges that banks were ‘redlining’ — discriminating against minorities. In 1989 Congress got involved and amended the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act to force banks to collect racial info on applicants for mortgage loans. It had not mattered that most minorities were refused most often because they could not afford the loans and that it was not racial discrimination. The Cloward/Piven Strategy of draining local resources was working.
In 1999 the democrat leadership decided that “every American deserves a home”. The president of Freddie Mac, David Glenn (a former Clinton White House aid) pushed the idea. Then Fannie Mae decided to open half of it’s business up to low and moderate income borrowers. Mortgage companies were ‘encouraged’ to pursue Latino’s (illegal status didn’t matter). Most had no income verification, many purchased homes with no credit, no income, no employment, and no down payment. Barney Frank assured America that Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were fine!
Fannie Mae pledged 1 billion dollars to boost minority home ownership in Chicago, but it grew to 10 billion over the next 4 years. By 2003, funding in Chicago reached 600 billion. Franklin Raines, Chairman and CEO of Fannie Mae, stepped down taking with him a golden parachute of several million dollars and a MONTHLY pension of $114,393 for life. If he dies, his wife collects it until she dies! Raines was an adviser to Obama. And, Obama was the second largest recipient of campaign contributions from Fannie Mae.
Tony Rezko was Obama’s helper or money man during his 4 years as a community organizer and his term as state senator. He funneled money to Rezko who bought run-down apartments and did cosmetic repairs. The apartments have since rotted down or been torn down. Rezko helped Obama purchase a mansion in Hyde Park at a fraction of the market value. It’s a few blocks from Bill Ayers’ home. Rezko has since been convicted of bribery and money laundering … and sent to prison.
Activists continue to apply pressure on other parts of the bureaucracy when they see a chance, following the Cloward/Piven Strategy of overloading the government with impossible demands to bring down the government and make America a Socialist State.
