I have never had to say good-bye to so many friends at once. But alas, until American people get riled enough to take back their government, I guess it is good-bye to faithful dear friends that have always been truthful with me … Neal Boortz, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Herman Cain, Billy Cunningham, Mark Levin, and Rusty Humprey. Maybe, just maybe, someday we’ll hear from you again when America once more makes sense.
Obama supporters control most of the newspapers and television already (except FOX News), but now congress wants to silence conservative talk radio (can’t afford to let the public know the truth of what’s happening in D.C). What Diane Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, and friends could not get done with the Fairness Doctrine, they intend to accomplish with “localism”.
One thing you can say for the democrats is they do not give up. If they do not get their policies passed under one bill, they will re-label them, re-phrase them, and send them through again.
Think the immigration issue is settled? Obama intends to give amnesty to millions of illegals!
In January, the F.C.C. issued a 97-page “rule making report”. They want to install and mandate programming advisory boards for EVERY radio station in America. This group would be made up of left-wing liberal groups such as ACORN.
If these groups do not like the programming of a station, they can\will complain to the F.C.C. who can\will fine the station and can revoke the license. (Three guesses what programs they will not like.)
They would re-assign the licenses to others, forcing conservative stations to become liberal. One bright spot is that thus far liberal stations have not stayed on air for long because they do not get the audience, and thus the advertising needed to cover costs. Of course, the government could ‘bail them out’.
They can/will require more local programing, squeezing out the conservative talk shows. The F.C.C. doesn’t state if the boards will be elected or appointed, but judging by Obama’s actions so far, firing CEO’s and Inspector Generals, taking over businesses and banks, appointing his own ‘task forces’ and Czars, we can safely assume that he will appoint them.
At the present time licenses are issued for 8 years, but the F.C.C. wants to change that to 2 or 3 years. They want ‘diversity’ of ownership to allow for more female and minority owners. They want to mandate it so that they can start immediately, meaning licenses can be taken away from current owners and given to others.
Don’t you just love Socialism? If you are on Obama’s bandwagon, you have no worries!
House Speaker Pelosi, up to her old tricks, has sat on the Broadcast Freedom Act for 2 years and will not allow it to come up for a vote. This bill would do away with the Fairness Doctrine for good. And you think you have representation in D.C., Ha!
They have selected a new F.C.C. chairman, Julius Genachowski, to enforce the new rules. THIS IS CENSORSHIP, plain and simple!
There is a website where you can and should sign a petition . It is called CensorshipBook and has a link to the petition. Please, anyone that happens to read this, if you do not want any more of your freedoms taken away by this administration and congress, go to the site and sign the petition.
The White House is already in an ongoing feud with Hannity and Rush. Michael Savage has been banned from England because he is a conservative talk show host in America. Funny thing is, he is also the botanist who gave England a garden of rare flowers … flowers that he can not even go to see.
Then there is late night talk show host Art Bell, a U.S. citizen, who married a Philippino over 3 years ago. They have a 2 year old child. He has gone through all of the right channels trying to help his wife become a citizen, paid the money (twice), and recently made a trip to the Philippines and found out his wife can not return to America. We allow (Congress does) illegal Mexicans, South American gangs, and Al Queda to walk across the border, but an American can not bring his wife that has lived here 3 years and followed all the rules to come back in?!?
I do not recall any Conservative Talk Show hosts being on the Homeland Security report listed as threats to America, as some U.S. Soldiers were, but who knows — the truth can cut like a knife sometimes. I’ll bet if my name wasn’t on there, it will be.
And if you are not on the list, you are not fighting Socialism/Marxism hard enough. Stand up and be counted while you still can.
